Emptiness

Not only Zen but Quantum physics too has taught us to look at the world with very different eyes. Most of what we see is more a reflection of our minds than anything that's actually real.

When we speak of Emptiness in Zen, we're not saying that things don't exist. Of course they do. They're just empty of most of our ideas, beliefs and perceptions. But they are filled with so much more.

If we could strip away all our ideas about a leaf, empty our mind cup so to speak, what would we see then? When we think we know something, we're still missing the truth of it. When the mind cup is empty, there is room for the Truth to come in and fill it.
